Halloween, I shall miss you

October, my horrific and amazing month, has passed. I will truly miss the decorations and the different scare zones around the city, however, I am ready to embrace November. This Halloween, I filled a cauldron with chocolate candy and anticipated the arrival of trick-or-treaters, but sadly no one came to the door! Oh well, my boyfriend said he shouldn't have a problem finishing off the candy. 

I dressed up with my cat ears (of course-- it was Halloween) and faux nails and piercings. The lip ring wore on me. 

I love you, October, farewell.

The Blonds

Fur, glitter, whimsically bright colors and blonde wigs. The Blonds sparked my interest because of the intensity of their style and futuristic view. A combination of attire you'd wrap yourself in at a dub step club in outer space or hardcore lingerie. Inspiration for film

Never thought I'd be saying I found an inspirational commercial, but the first time I saw it run on Pandora, I fell in lust with the music, the text and the swiftly moving images. Ahhhhhhhhh

In the spirit of Halloween

Skulls and money signs-- one of my favorite purchases from Urban Outfitters when I was in high school. I can remember only wearing it in a public a few times, but they have become a staple for home wear.

After spending a wonderful morning with my boyfriend's sister, which involved breakfast and about three hours of amazing conversation, I began to feel restless when I found myself alone in my apartment. While I was lethargically placing clothing into the washer, I was hit with a sudden craving for ice cream-- cake batter gelato with chocolate sprinkles to be exact. A five minute drive later resulted in me casually sitting on a couch by a large window, eating gelato from a tiny, lime green spoon.

Monday, you were wonderful.

I've been a fan of lookbook.nu since I was a freshman in college, possibly even earlier, into a time where I don't even remember existing. Well, today I was casually browsing through the website and gazing upon the amazing street style from people around the world when I came across a contest! The 

SPOOKBOOK x BlackMilk Halloween Costume Contest

This evening I took out all my makeup (which isn't much) and began highlighting and contouring- my new favorite hobby- my face. First, I was going to be a skeleton, because of the one piece, faux leather, skeleton costume I'm obsessed with. Looking at the first two pictures, I am realizing I was definitely not pale enough. I was also trying to sink in my cheeks. Once I had my costume on, I casually asked my boyfriend to take photos of me and we quickly realized this wasn't going to be a one night face-off. I need to create a horror setting.

While I was sitting against the blank white wall, staring at the other blank white wall in front of me, I ran to my closet and changed into my Alice (Alyssa) in Wonderland costume and applied a few freckles with mascara. However, no fantastic pictures emerged and I eventually washed my face and I am now seated with my lap top. Not to worry! American Horror Story is on my DVR-- time to get horrified.

Desk decor

Recently, I rearranged the "guest" room in my apartment to make it a more suitable working environment and perhaps to even spark some creativity. First, I decorated my all black desk with more black- a floral pencil and letter holder as well as a gorgeous candle my best friend gave me. On the bottom portion of my desk, I have yet another black and white, floral magazine (well, I fill it with magazines) holder and my favorite piece of art. I haven't found a place where I would like to hang it. I drew it once with colored pencils and now, now it has been misplaced! A search must commence.

Oh yes, and the chandelier, it hangs above the desks and projects glittering lights all over the room.

American Horror Story Coven EP:1

Dark lighting, taboo situations, all black attire and the feeling of fear crawling through out my body. My Wednesday (and possibly Thursday and Friday nights) will now involve all of this when I gather in front of the television for an evening of awe and inspiration. 

AHS Coven premiered last Wednesday night and I am now desperately longing for the new episode for the following reasons:
1. The return of Tate and Violet (Taissa Farmiga and Evan Peters)
2. Emma Robert's fashionable attire
3. Jessica Lange's remarkable acting
4. To witness Dylan McDermott return to the TV screen

Skeleton and me

Halloween and October- these are a few of my absolute favorite things! I begin decorating in mid-September and continue throughout the whole, festive month. Last year I purchased this amazing, skeleton body suit (which I now feel like changing into after this post is complete) and along with the other array of costumes I've collected, I feel no need to purchase another costume for this year. Translation: I've saved at least $100!
My favorite item of decor this year are three Halloween inspired candles my mom gave me. I light them every night when the sun sets and just stare upon them with the TV on mute. What better entertainment could I possibly ask for?

Taking photos of your outfits is an extremely difficult task for someone who's doing it with no help and no tripod. Earlier this week I attempted to take website worthy photographs and only came out with one I was completely satisfied with (the one photo posted) The lighting was magical because I was standing near a window, and the swift decision to lift my hands and touch the miniature chandelier above me was the right move. Well, this is one of my first attempts, and I shall continue until I get a rhythm down.
